The Cooperative Economy: Grow, Participate, Connect.
About this Event
The cooperative movement is at a crossroads. With American economic growth largely concentrated in a small number of highly populated urban areas, swaths of the country continue to feel disconnected from their economy and unsure about the future. Many feel resentment over the way they perceive public policy decisions are made and resources are allocated. Cooperators know that ownership is the path to an inclusive economy that works for everyone.
At IMPACT 2018, we’ll embrace this cooperative moment. We’ll elevate and expand an environment in which people have a greater say in their futures and more equitable access to sustainable jobs and opportunities. Join us in October to explore new ways co-ops can spur even greater economic growth and participation!

Get ConnectEd is pleased to announce the 2017 Annual Ethnic Youth College Fair (EYCF) for African American, Asian, and Latino students in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The purpose of the EYCF is to encourage minority students to attend college or some post secondary institution. We encourage students to take control of the college planning process and develop a mindset that post-secondary education is a realistic goal.
Preparation for college and access to college should be addressed comprehensively and simultaneously. We view the college search as an experience that leads to opportunities for growth, exploration, and adventure. The Ethnic Youth College Fair gives students an opportunity to meet with college representatives and gather pertinent information about the college process as well as plan a course of study for their designated career track. Admissions representatives from schools across the country will gather at Tommy Douglas Conference Center to provide you with information about their institution and to help you decide if their school is a right fit for you. This fair is a great time for you to familiarize yourself with a variety of schools in which you are interested as well as introduce yourself to schools you might not have previously considered. Many colleges will offer application fee waivers, on-site admissions, and scholarships. Please come prepared with several copies of your transcripts and SAT/ACT scores!
This fair is FREE and open to high school students. Because it is never too early to start thinking about college, middle school students are encouraged to attend as well. Large groups are also welcome. Registration is strongly recommended.
