Sky Room ®, which boasts 360 degree views of Manhattan and the Hudson River

To unify the space, renowned architect Stephen B. Jacobs and affiliate interior designer Andi Pepper, who are widely known for their work with the Gansevoort, Library and Giraffe hotels, created a coffered ceiling featuring LED lighting that will serve as a stylized abstraction of Times Square – mimicking an aerial view of the intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue.
For the entrance space, the team drew inspiration from photographs of streaming taillights in moving traffic, which is reflected in the colored light installation of the backlit bar.
The interior and exterior spaces of the venue are thoughtfully designed, incorporating exciting and eccentric elements to provide an enhanced nightlife experience sure to leave a memorable impression on anyone who steps through the Sky Room’s elevator doors.
The North Terrace provides guests with breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline from the sky-high vantage of New York’s foremost rooftop lounge. From the team behind “A Star is Born This Way,” “Heart 2 Break,” and “Justice For Artpop”— Divatronic proudly presents: BLACKOUT
About this Event
It was 2007— a year when world famous pop superstar Britney Spears was plagued by swarming paparazzi, personal struggles, and all-too public meltdowns. At the dawn of the age of the iPhone and social media as we know it, an unforgiving press exploited and profited upon the systematic stripping away of the starlet’s squeaky clean image, driving her to the edge and beyond.
But in the midst of the chaos, the carnage, and the catastrophe, Spears’ fifth studio album Blackout was born— an album which has gone on to be heralded as one of the most influential records of its time.
Join Drag superstar Alaska Thunderfuck, alongside director Nick Laughlin— with choreography by AJ Blankenship and Nick Laughlin— as they bring together Broadway’s finest singers and dancers, with the world’s fiercest and most groundbreaking Drag performers, in an ecstatic celebration of Britney’s heart, vulnerability, and power to endure.
On April 6, 2020, at Brooklyn’s queer owned and operated The Dollar Bill, come take the journey from “Gimme More” to “Mona Lisa.” From to lockdown to liberation. From breakdown, to BLACKOUT.

Margaret Glaspy The Devotion Tour with Kate Davis
About this Event
$25 ADV / $35 Day of Show / 21+
ABOUT MARGARET GLASPY
On Margaret Glaspy’s long-awaited second album, Devotion, this highly acclaimed young artist reaffirms her status as one of the most sharp-eyed singer-songwriters of her generation while managing to audaciously reinvent her sound. She fearlessly defies expectations — and the results are exhilarating.
Coming home after nearly three years on the road in support of her 2016 debut album Emotions and Math and the 2018 follow-up EP Born Yesterday, Glaspy was eager to challenge herself as an artist and start to make a new album with a clean aesthetic slate. Her bold experimentation has paid off, with tunes that are her most melodically confident, rhythmically compelling, and often incredibly romantic. The arrangements are unexpectedly lush at times, especially on the torchy “Heartbreak,” and often boast an impressive groove, on such tracks as “You’ve Got My Number” and the title song, “Devotion.” Glaspy announces her radical approach at the very start of Devotion, where digitally altered voices serve as the prelude to “Killing What Keeps Us Alive,” and she fills the album with surprising sonic touches, right up to the haunting electronics-and-voice soundscape of album closer “Consequence.”
For Glaspy, Devotion is more about evolution than total transformation. The distinctive personality that marked Emotions and Math is still very much in evidence here. On her debut, Glaspy could be bracingly direct as she chronicled the trials of being alone or the tribulations of being together. She brought swagger, as well as sensitivity, to her lyrics and her performances. On Devotion, she still does, but her perspective has changed: “This record is very different from the last. It’s not about being righteous or all-knowing, it’s about letting love in even when you don’t know what will happen when you do. It’s about devoting your heart to someone or something, against all odds.”
Glaspy toured throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, China and Australia behind Emotions & Math, including dates with Wilco and The Lumineers among others – she also appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk, CBS Saturday Morning and CONAN. Finding herself in her Brooklyn apartment after all of her travels, Glaspy admits, “It was such a shift for me that I didn’t know what to do with myself when I closed that chapter. I was feeling pretty shy. I like to be alone and I had constantly been around people for two or three years straight. I took a long breath, reorienting myself, trying to find my in to get inspired and to get excited about making records again.”
Glaspy enlisted L.A.-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Chester, who has collaborated with Blake Mills and Jackson Browne among many others, to produce Devotion – recorded at Atomic Sound in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where they made the bulk of the album. As Glaspy notes, “Tyler and I proved to be a very good match in the studio. I love being very hands-on with my records and he was a force of nature without restricting my sense of what the record should be. His instincts and ability are truly inspiring.” They brought in Glaspy’s touring drummer Tim Kuhl to complete the picture with his brilliantly artful and austere sense of the kit paired with Chester’s programming. Brooklyn-based engineer, Mark Goodell captured these performances masterfully and James Krausse (Los Angeles) mixed Devotion in a way that Margaret says, “she has always envisioned her music sounding like.”
“It has been amazing to be able to stretch out,” she says, “to not define myself just by the music I make, but to follow my nose toward all the things that make me happy.” A good example: Glaspy enlisted herself in distance education through Harvard University to fulfill her dream of getting an education outside of music: “Embracing being a student has made me feel like a child again and I think that has helped to propel my music forward so much more. My brain feels happy.”
Devotion, then, is like a series of hard-earned life lessons. Glaspy’s evolution over the last few years has been both musical and personal, which makes the album that much more compelling: “I’m learning that life is painful but you take the bad with the good; that love is hard but if you love someone, you make yourself available; that life is short and it’s okay to be sincere. I’m starting to be able to write about these things and it’s a feat for myself as an artist and growth for me as a person.”
ABOUT KATE DAVIS
Kate Davis picked up a violin at age five, a bass at age thirteen. She entered the Portland Youth Philharmonic before puberty, the Grammy Jazz Ensemble before adolescence. By the time she graduated high school, Kate won the Presidential Scholar in the Arts Award and a full ride to the Manhattan School of Music. By the time she graduated college, ASCAP’s Robert Allen Award and slots at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. As a young adult, the virtuoso claimed enthusiastic endorsements from NPR, MTV, PBS and BBC as well as coveted invitations to the stage from Herbie Hancock, Ben Folds, Alison Krauss, Jeff Goldblum and the like. Most recently, she co-wrote Sharon Van Etten’s hit single “Seventeen” and contributed to the soundtrack for blockbuster ‘Five Feet Apart.’
Yet, Kate Davis considers her debut indie rock album her hardest-earned accolade to date.
Kate grew up as a jazz darling, but she grew into something significantly more dynamic. Days spent practicing and performing became nights spent writing — cathartic indie rock — music simultaneously informed by and rebutting of her training. Forbidden chord progressions emerged like diary entries, documents of an internal reaction to routine. Time intended for technique slipped into secret listening sessions of Beach House, Elliot Smith and TV on the Radio. In the same bright, arresting croon that ignited her youthful stardom, Davis created confessionals.
Now 28 and audibly matured, Kate is prepared to properly share the artifacts from her late-night craft, a full-length reaction to ritual required of perfection, an outburst from the pedestal. Throughout twelve tumultuous tracks, she poetically reflects upon the intricacies of what it is to live, ruminating on topics too close to her heart — identity, self-worth, loss. Trophy will be released November 8, 2019 on Solitaire Recordings

La Tablée, a celebration of the wines of the Rhône Valley, north and south, returns to New York City April 2020
About this Event
Produced by Daniel Johnnes and the team behind La Paulee and La Fete du Champagne, with the support of star sommeliers David Gordon and Rajat Parr, La Tablée NYC features over 30 of the Northern and Southern Rhône’s finest winemaking estates, from tiny family domaines to the larger négociants and everything in between. La Tablée will kick off with a series of small dinners, lunches, and seminars, culminating in the Tablée Tasting and Tablée Dinner on Saturday, April 18.

The evening will honor Toi Derricotte, recipient of PSA’s Frost Medal for lifetime achievement in poetry, and interviewed by Tracy K. Smith.
About this Event
The evening will honor Toi Derricotte, recipient of the Poetry Society of America’s Frost Medal for lifetime achievement in poetry. Derricotte will read her work, followed by an interview with Tracy K. Smith.
“There are few poets who are as brave as Toi Derricotte; brave in her subject matter and brave in how she insists that even the deepest hurts must sing on the page. Her work dives into the interior of African American womanhood, and brings back such lyric beauty. Her poems have given vast permission to the poets who have followed her to tell the truths of their lives, and in doing that, have allowed us all a chance to re-discover the world.”
–The Frost Medal citation from the Poetry Society of America’s Board of Governors
Toi Derricotte’s sixth collections of poetry, “I” New and Selected Poems, was published in 2019 and shortlisted for the 2019 National Book Award. Other books of poetry include The Undertaker’s Daughter, Tender, and Captivity. Her literary memoir, The Black Notebooks, won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for Non-Fiction and was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year.
With Cornelius Eady, Derricotte co-founded the Cave Canem Foundation in 1996. They are co-recipients of the Barnes and Noble Writers for Writers Award, the City of Literature Paul Engle Prize and the MLA Phyllis Franklin Award. She is Professor Emerita from University of Pittsburgh and a former Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
Tracy K. Smith is one of the most celebrated poets of our time. She served as the 22nd United States Poet Laureate from 2017 to 2019, and is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir Ordinary Light and several books of poetry, including her Pulitzer Prize-winning collection Life on Mars. She is the director of the Creative Writing Program at Princeton University, and hosts The Slowdown.
This event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP to attend.

The VNYL, located in downtown New York City is a lifestyle space which has been designed to showcase the influence of the 1970s on interior design, fashion, art, music and attitude in Nightlife and Hospitality Culture.
Though inspired by the past, The VNYL’s Food & Beverage Program is driven by modernity through innovation and creativity. While the cuisine takes inspiration from classic New York favorites, it is infused with a modern twist. The Beverage Program is designed to bring a superior quality to a larger audience. Using only premium and fresh ingredients across both programs, we strive to deliver a better quality product. We source our produce from local vendors for our Food & Beverage Programs so that everything we prepare, down to the cocktail mixers, is done in-house, fresh, daily.
The interior design objective was to create a space which feels residential while still having the functionality of a commercial, high traffic restaurant, event space and club. Every piece of furniture has been custom designed for The VNYL and manufactured by our design team in Ireland.
The space is the epitome of a lifestyle space. The culture is created by the individuals within the walls. Ranging from blockbuster movie premieres to drag performances, live music to dinner parties, internationally renowned DJ nights to intimate dates, The VNYL is a space for all to celebrate and enjoy.

Adrianne Lenker steps away from Big Thief for a very special and intimate solo performance in Jersey City.
About this Event
Adrianne Lenker
Adrianne Lenker has been writing songs since she was 10 years old. Her “back story” has been well documented in various interviews and profiles for Big Thief over the last 3 years. Despite, or more likely because of the constant touring and studio work, the last few years have been some of the most prolific for Lenker as a writer. Songs pop out at soundcheck. They pop out on late night drives between cities. They pop out in green rooms, hotel stairwells, gardens, and kitchens around the world.
In the hands of Lenker songwriting is not an old dead craft. It is alive. It is vital. With little regard for standard album cycle practice or the idea of resting at all, Lenker set out to make a document. Songs can be slippery and following 2+ years on the road with Big Thief, Lenker felt a growing need to document this particular time in her life in an intimate, immediate way.
“I want to archive the songs in their original forms every few years,” Lenker explained, ahead of the album’s release. “My first solo record I made was Hours Were the Birds. I had just turned 21 and moved to New York City where I was sleeping in a warehouse, working in a restaurant and photographing pigeons. Now five years later, another skin is being shed.”
Following a two-week road trip through the southwestern United States, Lenker headed into the studio with longtime friend Luke Temple. Temple put on his loosely fitting, bright orange, 100% wool producer hat and for one week they made music. The songs chosen for this collection were the songs that felt the most alive in the room. These are not castaways or B-sides. Some of these songs had been alive for years while some were written just days before the session. Some appeared in different future forms – notably on Big Thief’s U.F.O.F LP – some did not. The thread that connects these songs is not something that can easily be put down in words. Intuition connects these songs. They are a record of a time.
With this collection, Lenker further illuminated to the listening public what those close to her already knew; here we have a songwriter of the highest order, following her voice and the greater Voices that pass through her with an unflinching openness and clarity of translation.
“With a great imagination for melody, Lenker conjures a world of mingled trauma and love.” – Pitchfork
“Somewhere to conceal and heal yourself when the world outside feels a little daunting.” – The Line of Best Fit
“…as complex as ever: delicate and strong, soothing yet uneasy, each listen revealing new emotional depth.” – The Skinny
“Adrianne Lenker excels by tapping into the core of the human soul in the most tender, gentle and vivid way possible.” – Paste
“A collection of poetic shards, bruised and tender and fierce…steeped in mystery and loss and a sense of esoteric humanity.” – Various Small Flames
Matt Bachmann
Matt Bachmann (b. 1988, Chicago) is a musician/composer/songwriter based in New York. He’s collaborated as a bass plucker with Mega Bog, Hand Habits, Happy You, iji and Ed Askew and has crafted tunes under the monikers Big Eater, Pachanga and his own name. Bachmann’s debut Orindal Release, Unconditional Love, came out in 2018.
Walking Preference is Bachmann’s most recent collection of passionate instrumentals, expanding on the sound vs song work previously explored on earlier records. Recorded almost entirely on a Roland JX-3P, a Yamaha digital piano and a D.I. Guitar, Walking Preference inhabits an animated universe inspired by Miyazaki films and Nintendo fantasies — a world both natural and unreal. Air and space have been carefully manufactured. The playful drones and compositions within are full of bubbles and sharp turns while still adhering to the core tenants of Bachmann’s sound— that of beauty and space. Bachmann’s music is more sky than earth. Walking Preference zooms out.
