About this event
// about \\

Created by Allie Hoffman as part of her masters degree thesis work at Columbia University’s Spirit Mind Body Institute, ‘the feels’ is a 3-hour evening that includes an 80 minute facilitated experience.

The format builds off the work of Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, Dr Martha Eddy, the Buddha + the Tavistock Institute – among others.

‘The feels’ level 1 experience guides you through pairings that include meditations, prompts, positive reflections, and somatic elements like eye gazes + hugs.

‘The feels’ believes that =>

Better relating is possible.
Your body holds infinite wisdom, and tapping into that to determine if you want to connect deeper with someone, gives you more valuable ‘information’ than head-based read outs like where someone lives or where they work;
Online dating has left us treating each other badly; the way back is to show up with kindness, and care – which we facilitate you into expressions of;
Co-regulation is a powerful place to be – and we’re here to help you experience it;
Discomfort is OK. We believe if you’re able to sit at the edge of discomfort, and self-soothe – that it empowers a sense of self and pride that fortifies you;
If all you do at ‘the feels’ is write a love letter to you – we’re really happy w that. We don’t promise you that you’ll meet the love of your life – but we can guarantee that you’ll walk away with a sense of your own amazing’ness. We’re really here for that.
More things to know about ‘the feels’ =>

Our facilitators are professionals holding masters degrees (or higher) in the fields of mental health, movement, therapy, performance, and sexual health – among others;
Your ticket includes unlimited light bites, alcoholic + non alc beverage options;
Since inception + in partnership with Columbia, survey data we have collected shows that 70% of all ‘feels’ level 1 attendees will walk out the contact info for someone they’re excited about;
We’re here to build a community of people who believe – like we do – that its possible to treat each other better. Your purchasing this ticket opens that world to you. We bring it to life via WhatsApp communities + a series of offerings only available to Level 1 alumni.

// the who \\

this edition of ‘the feels’ is for ppl who identify as: practicing / exploring / engaging in non monogamy, polyamory, relationship anarchy, non-traditional relationship structure + its (also) for you if you’re exploring mindful connection; if you’re in new and ever expanding expressions of your sexuality; + if you’re exploring attraction and desire + one of your core – if not the core – value you hold is honesty/integrity/commitment to truth.

This version of the ‘feels’ is open to all regardless of age, religious identity, race, body type, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation.

We have very intentionally made this ENM feels a queer friendly event, to honor + uplift the very significant overlap between our queer community and our ENM community! This means that participants are welcome to explore + invite pairings that best align with their desires, regardless of gender parity in the room.

// pls note \\

We do not offer refunds, as we’re a small business and unable to accommodate refund or credit requests for future events.

However, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to the same event in the same category. For example, if you purchased a Female ticket for NY Feels 12, you can transfer or sell it to another female attendee for that same event. You are responsible for finding a replacement. Once the switch is confirmed, please email us their name and email.

While we typically don’t offer credits for future events, we’re more flexible with our Queer and ENM events as we continue to grow those communities.

For further questions on ticket transfers please refer to our FAQ page.

THE FILM

In the Mood for Love

Wong Kar Wai | 2000 | Hong Kong | 98 mins

Hong Kong, 1962: Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and Su Li-zhen (Maggie Cheung Man-yuk) move into neighboring apartments on the same day. Their encounters are formal and polite—until a discovery about their spouses creates an intimate bond between them. At once delicately mannered and visually extravagant, Wong Kar Wai’s In the Mood for Love is a masterful evocation of romantic longing and fleeting moments. With its aching musical soundtrack and exquisitely abstract cinematography by Christopher Doyle and Mark Lee Ping-bin, this film has been a major stylistic influence on the past decade of cinema, and is a milestone in Wong’s redoubtable career. A Janus Films release. Presented in partnership with the Fort Greene Park Conservancy as part of the Chinese and Spanish Language Film Series.

Supporters of Fort Greene Park Conservancy for this series include: Brooklyn SolarWorks, Brooklyn Org, NYC Council Member Crystal Hudson, New York State Council on the Arts, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and NYC Green Fund

Frequently asked questions
What is #DUMBODROP?
#DUMBODROP is Brooklyn’s most iconic party with an only-in-Dumbo twist: thousands of toy elephants parachuting down onto Washington Street. It’s a fundraiser for Dumbo’s Title 1 schools!

This is a fundraiser – where does the money go?
All proceeds from Drop tickets benefit our two public schools – PS307 (elementary) and Dock St (Middle School.) They’re both TITLE 1 Schools and in need of our support! Stop by and learn more about the schools at their tables in the Dumbo Archway Kids Zone on May 30.

Who puts on this event?
Team Dumbo! Think of us as a hyperlocal Chamber of Commerce meets Parks Department meets neighborhood cheerleader. We clean the streets, maintain the public spaces, do public programming + art, help small businesses, help large businesses, and advocate for Dumbo.

Why do I need a viewing ticket?
#DUMBODROP is a very popular event & there is limited space on Washington Street. All guests ages two and up will need a ticket to access the VIEWING AREA for the best view. We expect this to sell out. Your ticket guarantees you a spot inside the viewing area, a souvenir + a chance to win!

How are prize winners deteremined?
Winners will be selected at random and contacted via email by June 10. If the winner doesn’t respond within 72 hours, we reserve the right to contact the next eligible winner (and in this case the original winner forfeits their claim to the prize), and so on until a winner is found for each prize.

Where can I find more information about the free Kids Zone/Block Party?
The Dumbo Archway Block Party is from 4-7pm and has a FREE KIDS ZONE with 30+ activities, Brooklyn Flea Beer Garden and Taste of Dumbo (mini restaurant row.) No ticket needed here. More details at https://dumbo.nyc/dumbo-drop

I want to see both Drops!
Tickets are by drop, so if you want to see both, you need to buy one viewing ticket for the 5pm drop, and another viewing ticket for the 7pm drop.

All I want is a souvenir elephant!
A limited number of souvenir elephant / parachutes are available for purchase on May 30 at the Dumbo merch tables! There will be one inside the viewing area for ticket holders, and one in the Dumbo Archway.

Am I catching my own elephant?
No! We have a professional Parachute Team who executes The Drops. *IMPORTANT* Do not attempt to enter the Drop Zone to catch or retrieve an elephant. This is for event staff only. You’re here to watch and cheer them on! You’ll be handed your souvenir elephant when you arrive, so relax and enjoy.

I bought a ticket. Where do I get my elephant?
You will receive your souvenir elephant when you scan your ticket to enter the Viewing Area.

Is there food available?
Food & drink will be available for purchase from our Dumbo restaurants both inside the ticketed viewing area, as well as in the free Kids Zone/Block Party in the Dumbo Archway. Plus, we encourage you to make it a day in Dumbo and check out one of our many amazing restaurants for dinner the big even!

Are there public bathrooms?
There are portapotties inside the ticketed viewing area, as well as in the free Kids Zone/Block Party in the Dumbo Archway.

Are you on social media?
Yes! Tag us @dumbo_brooklyn, #DUMBODROP2025!

I’m a member of the press. How do I get credentials to attend Dumbo Drop?
Please email us at MorahanArtsandMedia@outlook.com to receive press credentials in advance. As this is a limited capacity event, press is strongly encouraged to make arrangements in advance as we anticipate a sell out.

Is any of this free?
The Dumbo Archway Block Party is free- no tickets needed. This includes the #DUMBODROP Kids Zone, powered by Brooklyn Bridge Parents, with 30+ activities for ages 1-10! You can also watch from further up Washington Street for free.

Can I bring a dog to Dumbo Drop?
Only services dogs are allowed.

About this event

The Dinner Show Everyone’s Dying To Attend… In Times Square!

Speakeasy, Die Softly is the newest and most elaborate comedic immersive murder mystery ever performed by The Murder Mystery Company. During this killer show, guests will enjoy a three-course, family-style Italian feast in the newly-renovated Sinatra Room at the legendary Carmine’s in Times Square.

“Poised to be the must-see production of the season, promising an unforgettable synthesis of gourmet dining and theatrical brilliance!” — Stage Biz

The year is 1927, a time of flappers, mobsters, bootlegging and countless seedy speakeasies. Come on into Lou Zar’s and shimmy to the live music of the club’s famous songstress, Lucy Morals, and her accompanist, Keys Yacar, or, if you prefer, play some casino games and win big money you can blow on “soda pop.” Unfortunately, the fun can’t last all night– the feds have been sniffing around, so we need your help to flip the speakeasy into a “legitimate Italian restaurant” before the police raid the place. However, even amidst all these games, dames, and dons, someone had murder on their mind! You and your table team must help the detective solve the crime before the culprit escapes! But beware… the killer could be anyone… even YOU!

Disclaimer: Please note that you may be selected to participate as an actor during the show. This would involve delivering lines in front of the audience. If you are not comfortable with this, kindly inform one of our professional actors, and they will assist you.

“We want to play some more!”

— Barbara Corcoran, ABC’s “Shark Tank”

The Murder Mystery Company is an experiential entertainment company exploding with popularity after being recently featured on ABC’s “Shark Tank.” Come see what all the hype is about at the legendary Carmine’s in Times Square!

Featuring Robin Wall Kimmerer as Keynote on Saturday, June 7th:

Robin Wall Kimmerer is a mother, scientist, decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She is the author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, which has earned Kimmerer wide acclaim. Her first book, Gathering Moss: A Natural and Cultural History of Mosses, was awarded the John Burroughs Medal for outstanding nature writing, and her other work has appeared in Orion, Whole Terrain, and numerous scientific journals.

In 2022, Braiding Sweetgrass was adapted for young adults by Monique Gray Smith. This new edition reinforces how wider ecological understanding stems from listening to the earth’s oldest teachers: the plants around us. Robin’s newest book, The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World (November 2024), is a bold and inspiring vision for how to orient our lives around gratitude, reciprocity, and community, based on the lessons of the natural world.

Robin tours widely and has been featured on NPR’s “On Being” with Krista Tippett and in 2015 addressed the general assembly of the United Nations on the topic of “Healing Our Relationship with Nature.” Kimmerer is a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor of Environmental Biology, and the founder and director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment, whose mission is to create programs which draw on the wisdom of both indigenous and scientific knowledge for our shared goals of sustainability. In 2022 she was named a MacArthur Fellow.

As a writer and a scientist, her interests in restoration include not only restoration of ecological communities, but restoration of our relationships to land. She holds a BS in Botany from SUNY ESF, an MS and PhD in Botany from the University of Wisconsin and is the author of numerous scientific papers on plant ecology, bryophyte ecology, traditional knowledge and restoration ecology. As a writer and a scientist, her interests in restoration include not only restoration of ecological communities, but restoration of our relationships to land. She lives on an old farm in upstate New York, tending gardens both cultivated and wild.

ABOUT WITH A VENGEANCE (B&N Exclusive Edition):
One train. No stops. A deadly game of survival and revenge.

In 1942, six people destroyed Anna Matheson’s family. Twelve years later, she’s ready for retribution.

Under false pretenses, Anna has lured those responsible for her family’s downfall onto a luxury train from Philadelphia to Chicago, an overnight journey of thirteen hours. Her goal? Confront the people who’ve wronged her, get them to confess their crimes, and deliver them into the hands of authorities waiting at the end of the line. Justice will at last be served.

But Anna’s plan is quickly derailed by the murder of one of the passengers. As the train barrels through the night, it becomes clear that someone else on board is enacting their own form of revenge—and that they won’t stop until everyone else is dead.

With time running out before the train reaches its destination, Anna is forced to hunt the killer in their midst while protecting the people she hates the most. In order to destroy her enemies, she must first save them—even though it means putting her own life at risk

ABOUT Riley Sager:

Riley Sager is the New York Times bestselling author of seven novels, most recently The House Across the Lake, The Only One Left, and Middle of the Night. A native of Pennsylvania, he now lives in Princeton, New Jersey.

About this event
Welcome to CAMP MONSTROUS, campers!

This immersive event is a love letter to the campy slasher films of the 1980s with our own original horror story unfolding in both spaces throughout the night-camp counselors and synth pop stars being hunted by two masked killers all while supernatural occurrences are bound to take place once the clock strikes Midnight on Friday the 13th…

…all happening while you party and enjoy synth DJ sets, live music, special performances, Friday the 13th flash tattoos, Polaroid photo ops, outdoor horror movies, marshmallow roasting, and a gory blood wrestling competition!

That’s not all! From 5pm-8pm there will be a FREE day party in the backyard with a dance party, summer games, tarot readings, camp counselor shenanigans, and a charity raffle benefiting The Center!

CAMP MONSTROUS is raising funds for The NYC LGBT Community Center. Right now, vulnerable communities are at risk from the powers meant to protect them. We know we’re stronger together. Every day, The Center provides life-enhancing and life-saving services spanning the areas of advocacy, health and wellness, recovery, youth, families, and the arts. Join us in supporting their work for all LGBTQ+ New Yorkers by donating to The Center at the event through our charity raffle and many fun donation opportunities.

Along with raising funds for The Center, we will also be holding a Pride Pantry Drive where you are encouraged to bring new non perishable items and goods that we will donate to various queer shelters to provide our community members in need with necessary goods. We will be putting out the full list of recommended items on our instagram @monstrous.nyc. Each item you donate will earn you a raffle ticket!

Both bars, inside and outside, will be open throughout the event featuring a special “Having Fun Since 1983” hurricane cocktail made with rum from our sponsor Misguided Spirits and hurricane mix from our friends at Strange Delight. The Zumbador will also be serving good eats for you hungry campers.

We encourage campers to disconnect from their devices and join us in the immersive world of a time before smartphones. Our team of professional photographers and videographers will get plenty of coverage of the event.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a dress code?
Yes! The dress code is “80s summer fun”! Think crop tops, chucks, sweatbands, short shorts, big hair, scrunchies etc etc etc

If I show up to the free day party can I stay for the night party?
We encourage campers who come for the free party to purchase a ticket at the door and stick around! We are working out a system where day party goers can return for the night party at a discounted rate.

When will the raffle winners be pulled?
Raffle winners will be pulled around 7:30PM so if you want to win a basket you have to come to the FREE Day Party!

When is the best time to come?
Truly anytime! We designed these parties in such a way that you can arrive at anytime and witness some incredible entertainment. However, the climax is at midnight and entertainment dies down after 1am or so.

It’s a slasher party, can I wear a mask?
NO. No masks, aside from KN95s or other medical masks, are permitted. Only our hired performers are allowed to wear a mask. If you bring a mask, you will be asked to leave it at the door or it will be confiscated.

How scary is this event?
This event features fake blood, gruesome SFX makeup and imagery, eerie atmosphere, simulated acts of violence and death. However, there is a big camp and comedy element throughout that provides levity.

How can I further support the NYC LGBT Community Center?
You can make a direct donation to The Center through their website by visiting gaycenter.org/give!
