El Tonto Por Cristo follows monks on the Texas Gulf inching toward sainthood. One-night-only screening + director Q&A. Limited seats.
Told in luminous vignettes, El Tonto Por Cristo is inspired by the ancient tradition of the Holy Fool, and set within the quiet rhythms of monastic life, it is the first English-language Orthodox narrative feature of its kind. Woven with Orthodox imagination, it becomes a transcendent meditation on holiness and humanity.
“Tarkovsky by way of Texas.” —David Lowery
“A dangerous film, in the best possible way.” —Jonathan Pageau
“Phenomenal. Truly a work of art.” —Frederica Mathewes-Green
Written and directed by Josh David Jordan (This World Won’t Break), the film is now on a grassroots roadshow tour—screening in cities across North America, one night only per stop.
This isn’t just a film. It’s a cinematic pilgrimage. You’re invited to walk with us. Each screening includes a Q&A with the filmmaker and an invitation to linger with the questions it stirs.

LPR Presents & Pioneer Works Presents an evening of darkwave Clan of Xymox and Cold Cave in the Pioneer Works Main Hall.
LPR Presents & Pioneer Works Presents an evening of darkwave Clan of Xymox and Cold Cave in the Pioneer Works Main Hall. From foundational gothic romanticism to sleek, modern synthscapes, this is a night shaped by artists who defined—and continue to redefine—the genre, with Buzz Kull and Rosa Anschütz opening the evening.
About the artists
Clan of Xymox is a Dutch band, formed in 1981 by Ronny Moorings in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Throughout the band’s long career, Clan of Xymox has emerged as an important and influential presence in the gothic/dark wave music genre. The band’s music is often classified as darkwave, gothic rock, and synth-pop, and is known for its moody, atmospheric sound and introspective lyrics. Over the years, Clan of Xymox has experienced various lineup changes, with Ronny Moorings remaining as the only constant member. The band has continued to release albums and tour regularly, maintaining a strong fan base around the world. Ronny Moorings’s lyrics often explores themes of love, loss, and introspection, and is known for the melancholic and atmospheric soundscapes. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary darkwave and gothic bands.
Cold Cave has become synonymous with the modern-day resurgence of darkwave and synthpop. Since 2007, Wesley Eisold’s poetic lyrics and rich baritone combined with Amy Lee’s conceptual artistic vision has propelled Cold Cave to perform at world class museums The Getty and The Guggenheim, and tours alongside legends Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Cult and Ministry among others. Marked by a pitch black aesthetic, crafting melodic synths-capes with songs celebrating the contradictory beauty of the human condition, they are cerebral and savage yet sweet and seductive. Based in Los Angeles, their efforts stretch across mediums into their book publishing company and record label, Heartworm Press, and bookstore The Daily Planet, where they have released the poetry of Alan Vega (Suicide), Genesis P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle & Psychic TV) and Mark Lanegan. From their primordial noise industrial beginnings to their shimmering signature synth-pop, Cold Cave have established themselves as long-running luminaries of the underground.

A conversation on how surveillance, climate crisis, and inequality shape our most intimate lives.
Dystopia Gets Personal: Laila Lalami & Megha Majumdar
All PEN World Voices Festival tickets are non-refundable. Please confirm the time and location of your event before finalizing your purchase.
A woman is incarcerated indefinitely because an algorithm predicts she might be a threat. A woman is fleeing climate disaster only to have her passport stolen by a desperate thief trying to feed his family.
In Laila Lalami’s The Dream Hotel and Megha Majumdar’s A Guardian and a Thief, the line between dystopian fiction and reflections of our current reality is blurred. Tackling surveillance culture, the algorithms absorbing our data, climate catastrophe, and global inequality, these novels remind us that political and societal forces intimately shape our daily lives.
Moderated by PEN America Co-CEO Clarisse Rosaz Shariyf, this discussion will look at the collision between the future and the present, and between the personal and the political.
The 2026 PEN World Voices Festival is a celebration of world literature and free expression. The 2026 edition will be the 21st World Voices Festival. Over four days, over 140 writers from over 40 countries will be featured in 40+ engaging talks, panels, readings, and activations in New York City and greater Los Angeles.
