Summer is back in Prospect Park with the return of its annual outdoor movie series, A Summer Movie Under the Stars, this year presented by SHOWTIME® and hosted by Brooklyn Magazine, Prospect Park Alliance and the office of the Brooklyn Borough President. The series kicks off Thursday, August 5, and runs for four consecutive Thursdays through August 26, at the north end of the Prospect Park Long Meadow.
The films will begin shortly after sundown at the north end of the Prospect Park Long Meadow, located nearest to the Grand Army Plaza entrance. The closest subway stations are the Grand Army Plaza and the Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum stops on the 2, 3 lines or the B41 bus lines.

Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco at Lakeside in Prospect Park is a themed, dress up, immersive roller skating experience that will transport you into a fabulous retro roller disco “dreamland.”

Our skate rentals go up to a size 15. You are welcome to bring your own roller skates or roller blades to wear. The rink is a polished concrete surface. Indoor wheels are recommended.

About this event
You’re invited to this fun, creative, social, and safe event! We will be painting in Central Park under the guidance of a master artist! Please bring a mask (required) and something to sit on (towel is fine). We will keeping the group safely social distanced.
Included: a pre-sketched canvas, unlimited painting materials (brushes, acrylic paints etc.) and a take home bag. No smocks so please dress appropriately. Masks required.
Come on out, make new friends (from 6 feet apart) and paint a great canvas under the guidance of a master artist! Bring your own food and/or wine or whatever cocktails you’d like).
This is a BYOB so bring your drinks & snacks – have yourself a picnic while getting instruction for painting! If you are bringing certain types of “drinks”, please be discreet in Central Park 🙂
DIRECTIONS TO FIND GROUP:
We are located in a cul-de-sac at PINETUM EAST. We will be behind this row of benches (right under the trees). If you are coming from the east side you can find us by entering Central Park on East 84th street. Walk up the ramp, cross over the road and head west. If you are traveling from the west side we are east of the basketball courts.
What to expect:
• Step-by-step, group-oriented painting instruction, which is designed to simultaneously entertain and enlighten our members.
• We’ll have a professional artist guide you through a featured painting that is yours to keep and proudly display. And don’t worry — no experience is necessary.
• 2 hour course lead that teaches you the art of mixing colors, blending and painting techniques.
• All supplies provided – 12×16 pre-sketched canvas, unlimited acrylic paint (water based), brushes, and aprons.
This is going to be a fun time!!!!!!

Bryant Park Yoga returns for a 10-week summer series beginning June 16! Our socially distanced classes will ensure that yogi’s who join in-person feel comfortable and safe. To comply with state guidelines all yogi’s must pre-register to attend a class. We are not able to accept walk-ins this summer as we are closely monitoring event capacity. Participants will be asked to bring their own mat this summer to help our sanitation efforts.

How will it work?
Using your RSVP, our team will check in all patrons by last name at will call. Before your arrival, we will ask you to make sure you can answer “no” to all of the CDC’s COVID-19 safety screening questions. Upon arrival, we will be checking proof of vaccination. Masks will be required while interacting with event staff. Chairs will be provided!
Can I bring food and drinks?
No alcoholic beverages are allowed. Feel free to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages! Food and drink must be consumed while you are sitting in your designated area.
I’m vaccinated, do I need to wear a mask?
All attendees and staff are required to wear a mask while interacting. You will also be reminded of the mandatory safety measures via email and on screen.
What COVID-19 Measures Have Been Taken?
Our guests and our team’s safety is our primary concern. Our COVID-19 safety measures include social distancing for both guests and staff, regular cleaning of all facilities, and contact-free check-in. All attendees and staff are required to wear a mask while interacting. You will also be reminded of the mandatory safety measures via email and on-screen. You may sit in your pod with up to 4 people, but we ask that you remain socially distanced from anyone not in the group you have chosen to sit with.
Where will the screening take place within Jackie Robinson Park?
The screening will take place through the entrance on Bradhurst Avenue and 148th Street. You will turn into the park on Bradhurst and into the Amphitheater Plaza.
How accessible is this venue?
