Statement of Need: The morbidity and mortality of cancer is still a public health crisis. Pancreatic cancer, in particular, has one of the worst survival rates. Increased knowledge of new treatment methodologies, new research being done in the disease and how to best care for the patient with Pancreas cancer are vitally important to improving the survival rate of patients with pancreatic cancer. Each year more and more research is being done in pancreatic cancer requiring physicians and advanced clinical providers to have knowledge of new medications used to treat the disease. New to cancer diagnosis and treatment is the use of molecular biology and genetic testing. It has been found that different molecular abnormalities of pancreatic cancer react differently to different medications to treat pancreatic cancer. Providing our learners with the extensive knowledge of molecular and genetic testing in correlation to the appropriate therapy to treat a pancreatic patient is of utmost importance. This conference will provide the opportunity for participants to increase their knowledge and competencies in the care and management of pancreatic cancer

– Review and analyze advances in the treatment of pancreatic cancer including newly available clinical trials…

– Identify specific clinical trials available to pancreatic cancer patients at different stages of the disease process.

– Describe specific mutations found in patients with pancreatic cancer that would indicate use of a specific medication to treat the disease

Joint Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, Northwell Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team

About La Tablée:

La Tablée , a celebration of the wines of the Rhone Valley, north and south, will celebrate a ffifth edition in New York City. The term La Tablée originates in the village of Ampuis in Côte-Rôtie and denotes the meal celebrating the end of the harvest (similar to Burgundy’s La Paulée), bringing to mind the colloquial French phrase à table – the call given to family and friends to sit and enjoy a convivial meal around the table.

This historic wine producing region has roots dating back over 2000 years to times when the Greeks colonized the area now known as Marseille. Later, the Romans brought their culture and traveled up the Rhone River establishing their encampments in the north around Vienne. Today, it is one of the most important wine producing regions of France.

The team that produces La Paulée ® and La Fête du Champagne ™ has embarked on this journey to educate and communicate about the wines, cuisine, and culture of the Rhone Valley. Like at La Paulée and La Fête du Champagne, La Tablée will showcase the many aspects of this grand region, including both small growers and large negociant houses, allowing the guests to explore varied styles from the North and the South and discover what excites their own palates.

About this event
Important information: This event is free with museum admission. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early as there may be a wait to enter the museum. This eventbrite is NOT a ticket into the museum. You do not need to bring this to attend the program.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the largest naval battle in modern history: the Battle of Leyte Gulf (October 23–26, 1944). Intrepid and its air group were at the center of this epic multi-day engagement, which involved nearly 200,000 men aboard 282 ships spanning 100,000 square miles of ocean. Join us on Wednesday, November 20th for a presentation on Intrepid’s role in the battle and the experiences of the ship’s aviators and aircrew featuring Mike Fink, the Intrepid Museum’s Manager of Development Content and author of the forthcoming book, Intrepid’s Fighting Squadron 18.

Pre-orders available on Amazon.

The talk will take place in the Intrepid Museum’s Lutnick Theatre. Livestreaming of the conversation will be available if you can’t make it in person to the Intrepid Museum. View the event live on Facebook or YouTube.

This event is free with museum admission. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early as there may be a wait to enter the museum. This eventbrite is NOT a ticket, you do not need to bring it to attend the program.

Special Guest Speaker:

Mike Fink is Manager of Development Content at the Intrepid Museum. An avid researcher/historian, he spent six years combing through archives and interviewing pilots and their families to uncover the incredible true story of “Two-a-Day 18,” Intrepid’s highest-scoring fighting squadron.

About the Book:

At the end of their 81-day tour of duty aboard Intrepid, the men of Fighting Squadron 18 (VF-18) were credited with shooting down more than 170 planes, earning them the nickname “Two-a-Day 18” in newspapers nationwide. Intrepid’s Fighting Squadron 18 follows squadron members through training, into combat, and finally to the end of their harrowing stories—whether they took the return trip home or made the ultimate sacrifice. Drawing extensively on archival and family collections, author Mike Fink reveals the personalities of these men and the binding friendships they built, showcasing the powerful impact of war on those who fight it in addition to the impact of those men on the war itself.

This book will be released on January 14, 2025.
