About this Event
The Indigenous Peoples Celebration of New York City is seeking funds for its fifth annual FREE gathering on Randall’s Island, which will take place over two days on October 13th and 14th and will feature many indigenous performers and speakers!
As always, we throw this event to honor and celebrate the Indigenous Peoples of this land. Our purpose is to highlight and support the current national movement to change outdated holidays and monuments honoring figures who have brought harm on the vulnerable populations. Specifically, we support and propose that Columbus Day be changed to Indigenous Peoples Day in New York City and that all monuments honoring Columbus be removed, as honoring this man is rooted in inaccuracy and celebrates a tragic history of genocide and violence against the Indigenous Peoples of this country. New York City’s celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day would contribute greatly to the healing of America’s indigenous community, and it would honor this community’s resilience, strength, and ongoing contributions to American culture and history. Indigenous Peoples and their voices are more important now than ever, with this community leading the way on current, urgent issues like the growing call for greater environmental awareness and protections.
We ask that New York City to join Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, Denver, Minneapolis, Portland, Sante Fe, Berkeley, Rapid City, Madison, and many other cities who recognize that now is the time to change Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day. Please help us raise funds to support this free community event as we gather on Randall’s Island for two days to celebrate Indigenous Cultures.

TDE Presents ScHoolboy Q: CrasH Tour witH Special Guest Nav
About this Event
Southern LA-raised rap sensation ScHoolboy Q makes his Avant Gardner debut on November 13, promising a much anticipated performance following the release of his fifth studio album “CrasH Talk.” It’s a stylistic evolution for the rapper, now confident with his position in hip-hop, focused on bass-heavy anthems to soundtrack slow cruises with the windows down and the volume up. Still though, ScHoolboy Q remains uniquely reflective, brandishing his careful balance of humor and pain.
After four years spent making hood stoner anthems alongside Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock as one quarter of hip-hop supergroup Black Hippy, ScHoolboy Q debuted his first major-label studio album Oxymoron on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2014, now known for singles “Man of The Year,” “Collard Greens,” and “Studio.”

About this Event
W ciągu następnych dwóch dni posypały się propozycje z „Dancing with the Stars”, programu „Twoja Twarz Brzmi Znajomo” oraz największych wytwórni muzycznych.
Cechy, którymi otworzył sobie drzwi do wielkiej kariery.
Dzięki zagorzałym fanom Sławomir nagrał swój debiutancki longplej „The Greatest Hits”.
To będzie najgorętszy koncert roku 2019!

DSP Shows Presents Elvis Costello & The Imposters
About this Event
Elvis Costello’s wide-ranging recording career began in 1977 with the release of My Aim Is True in a catalogue that include such diverse highlights as This Year’s Model, Get Happy, Imperial Bedroom, King Of America, Blood & Chocolate, The Juliet Letters with the Brodsky Quartet, The River In Reverse with Allen Toussaint and Wise Up Ghost with The Roots.
Elvis Costello & The Imposters’ last tour in late 2018 found the combo reaching new live performance peaks. The band “came out swinging” (Star Tribune) in Minneapolis, were “unstoppable” in Anaheim (OC Register) and played an “epic and euphoric” (Variety) show in LA that even at nearly three hours “[left] ‘em wanting more.” The Imposters are: Steve Nieve (keyboards), Davey Faragher (bass) and Pete Thomas (drums) with Aisha “Kitten” Kuroi and Briana Lee on vocals.

About this Event
PopGun Presents
of Montreal
Two important events occurred during the making of White Is Relic/Irrealis Mood. I became “Simulated Reality” paranoid and I fell in LOVE.
Well a lot more happened during the process of writing and recording, but those are the two big ones. I also reached a healthy point of self-forgiveness for my failed marriage and became deeply educated in the lies of America the Great.
I feel like a switch was recently turned on in my brain and now I’m beginning to see through the lies that have been fed to me my whole life by the masters of media and by those who control and manipulate the narrative of our cultural identity and social order.
My paranoia began during the presidential election cycle and reached a dangerous peak shortly after the inauguration. In the meantime I watched and read countless works of art in a mad effort to be reminded of how many truly brilliant people there are living/struggling among us and to try to maintain a positive outlook. The works of Angela Davis, Noam Chomsky, Chris Kraus, Ta-Nehisi Coates, and the Autobiographies of Malcolm X and Mark E Smith were all great inspirations, to name a few.
Musically, I was very inspired by the extended dance mixes that people used to make for pop singles back in the ‘80s. It’s so cool how a lot of the 80’s hits had these really intricate and interesting longer versions that wouldn’t get played on the radio and could only be heard in the clubs. I used that template with these tracks, I wanted them all to feel like the extended “club edit” of album tracks.
I also decided to abandon the “live band in a room” approach that I had been using on the recent albums and work more on my own or remotely with collaborators. I used the same drum sample packs throughout because I wanted the album to have a rhythmic continuity to it. I wanted the drums to have a strong and consistent identity, similar to how Prince’s Linn Electronics LM-1 drum machine played such an important role on his classic albums. Zac Colwell also played a huge role on this album, adding saxophones and synths to most of the songs. I also got a lot of help from long time collaborators, and “of Montreal” touring members, Clayton Rychlik and JoJo Glidewell.
The two title concept came to me when I was thinking about how difficult it is to frame the message of a song with just one title, because so often the songs are about so many different subjects. ‘White Is Relic’ was inspired by James Baldwin’s writings regarding the creation and propagation of a toxic American White identity. I’ve come to learn how it’s just a tool wielded by the 1% to give poor white people a false sense of superiority in an effort to keep the masses placated and numb to how deeply we’re all getting fucked by our capitalist rulers. An ‘Irrealis Mood’ is a linguistic indicator that something isn’t yet reality but does have the potential to become so.
I’m always searching for new identities so this concept of the death of “Whiteness” appeals to me greatly. Might be the only way to save the world.
