The Drop: Trisha Yearwood With Don Was & Al Schmitt @ GRAMMY Museum 800 W Olympic Blvd A245 Los Angeles, CA 90015 United States | | |

Located on the second floor of the Museum, the Clive Davis Theater is an intimate, state-of-the-art 200-seat theater.
About this Event
The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Trisha Yearwood along with multiple GRAMMY Award Winners, Music Producer Don Was and Engineer Al Schmitt, to the Clive Davis Theater, for an intimate discussion on the making of Trisha’s new album, Let’s Be Frank, followed by a special performance. Trisha Yearwood possesses one of the most powerful female voices in Country music. The platinum-selling, multiple GRAMMY, CMA and ACM winning artist recently came off the record-breaking world tour with Garth Brooks to release her first full length studio album in over ten years—Let’s Be Frank, a collection of the singer’s favorite songs by Frank Sinatra. Yearwood recorded Sinatra’s timeless tracks live with a 55 piece orchestra at the iconic Capitol Records building in Hollywood using Sinatra’s microphone and sitting on the same stool where he sat while recording the originals. Please join us in welcoming Trisha, Don, and Al for this special evening, celebrating the new album.

Zachys is pleased to present the LARGEST Bordeaux event of the year – Union des Grand Crus de Bordeaux Tasting Tour 2019. On Monday, January 21st, 2019, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGC) will be visiting New York to promote the soon-to-be-released 2016 vintage. The vintage has been described by critics as “absolutely remarkable,” a great vintage,” and “one of the best vintages since 2010.” Antonio Galloni of Vinous Media noted, ” “The 2016s are absolutely remarkable wines. The word that comes to mind, is balance. Two thousand sixteen is a vintage that will be thought provoking on many levels for years, and probably decades, to come. Readers will find a bevy of affordable wines.” We could not agree more. The Union is an affiliation of the best Bordeaux producers from all of the major Bordeaux growing regions. More than 90 châteaux will attend, and winemakers and owners will pour more than 100 wines from the highly-acclaimed 2016 vintage for what is the largest and best Bordeaux tasting in the United States.

• Meet the world’s greatest winemakers and château owners
• Be among the first to taste 100+ wines from the acclaimed 2016 vintage
• The single largest private Bordeaux wine tasting in New York

This is a rare opportunity to taste the top Grands Crus of Bordeaux and speak directly with the château owners, winemakers, and representatives. Attendees will experience the new 2016 vintage from many of the best producers in Margaux, St.-Julien, Pauillac, St.-Estèphe, Listrac, Moulis, Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Graves, Pessac-Léognan, Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, Sauternes, and Barsac. Zachys is offering general admission ticket price of $125.00 + tax on all tickets. This event will sell out. Be sure to reserve your spot today.

Colter Wall is a young Saskatchewan born songwriter and performing musician. Steeped in Old Timey material and traditional Americana, Wall’s sound is comprised of resonate and raw baritone vocals, Folk and Bluegrass style guitar and banjo picking, steady kick-drum stomping, and visually provoking, story telling lyrics. Wall Draws influence from legends of the past such as Hank Williams, Robert Johnson, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, and The Band, as well as more modern Americana pioneers including Shovels and Rope, Jack White, Ray Lamontagne, and Shakey Graves.

His highly anticipated new album, Songs of the Plains, is out now on Young Mary’s Record Co. via Thirty Tigers.

Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, the album features 11 songs including seven original songs written by Wall, versions of Billy Don Burns’ “Wild Dogs” and Wilf Carter’s “Calgary Round-Up,” as well as two cowboy traditionals.

The biggest Global Game Jam site in the United States returns!

Join Playcrafting and Microsoft for a weekend of game-making plus free talks and workshops, refreshments and prizes! Stay tuned to this page as we confirm speakers, workshops and prizes in the coming weeks. Our 2018 site was the biggest in the United States and the 2nd largest in the world with over 500 jammers and 1200 attendees. Be a part of the magic in 2019, live all weekend from Times Square!

What started in 2016 grew to an epic scale by 2018 with our massive site in partnership with Microsoft. The result? Over 1,200 attendees and 500 official jammers – student and professional, young and old, newbie and veteran – joined us for a full weekend making over 80 games with free onsite workshops, refreshments and an epic expo and demo showcase with judges and prizes that had folks cheering all Sunday long. We’re so excited to grow and evolve this one-of-a-kind weekend for our community in 2019.

Watch our official 2018 Recap Video: HERE

Every attendee must RSVP on Eventbrite and HERE in order to have access to the event.

For participants:

Each participant will need to register both here on Eventbrite and at our GGJ site here. All projects must be submitted to the website in order to be considered for prizes. Entry to this event is free, but please sign up on Eventbrite so we can have your name at the door. You do not need to be onsite the entire weekend to participate or to be entered for prizes.

This is an inclusive site – people of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to join. Children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You do not need to be an active game developer to participate. Many game developers will be in attendance, though, too!

All games will have the same theme, which will be announced at our kickoff on Friday night. If you have more questions about how the Global Game Jam works, visit globalgamejam.org. We will provide free meals and workshops throughout the weekend and will also have designated quiet zones for teams needing the space to concentrate.

In the interest of fostering an inclusive and safe environment at all of our events, our Code of Conduct will be enforced.

Neil Patrick Harris returns to SF Sketchfest, this time for a much-deserved celebration of his extraordinary, versatile, multi-award-winning career. Whether in TV, film, or onstage, he has created terrific, nuanced performances for characters such as Count Olaf in “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” Barney Stinson in “How I Met Your Mother,” Desi Collings in “Gone Girl,” Hedwig in Broadway’s “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” the eponymous Dr. Horrible, and countless others. He’s also known for his personal appearances hosting awards shows, game shows, variety shows and talk shows. And as if he weren’t busy enough, Neil also has a thriving career as a writer, director, producer and author, including his New York Times best-selling middle grade fiction series “The Magic Misfits.”

FAQs

What’s the refund policy?

All ticket sales are final.

My assigned seats appear to be only even or odd numbers. Will my seats be together?

Our theatre seats are numbered even on the left side, odd on the right side, so seats together will be consecutively even or odd. To review the theatre map, please visit our website at: https://palaceoffinearts.org/seating/.

Why can’t I pick my seats while purchasing tickets from a smart phone or tablet?

Currently Eventbrite for mobile does not support the pick-a-seat function. Instead, when ordering on your phone Eventbrite automatically assigns you the best seat available. If you prefer to pick your seats please access the Eventbrite ticketing page from a desktop or laptop computer.
