The Frame: Rooftop Films & lululemon NYC
Some recent films have suggested that five emotions help humans navigate our complex world, but the characters we meet in these short films display a much more complex network of passions, sentiments and affections in response to modern life. For some, like a woman whose Valentine’s Day spent with friends turns into a viral, kinetic and very public freakout, emotions run high. They seem unable to fight the stirring from within. Others must control their feelings for employment or survival like a very zen referee facing near constant provocation from players on the soccer pitch and shark diver who confronts fear under the roiling ocean surface. Still others must dive deep to seek out their emotions like a son whose sweet, befuddling and hilarious send off to his dead father releases the sadness bubbling inside. Thank goodness for the therapists, meditation instructors and even the tears teachers – a very real teacher who encourages adults to cry more – who also populate these filmic spaces. Come experience the anguish and awe, the sorrow and surprise and maybe even a new feeling you’ve never felt before on this short film journey through human emotions.

How will it work?
Using your RSVP, our team will check in all patrons by last name at will call. Before your arrival, we will ask you to make sure you can answer “no” to all of the CDC’s COVID-19 safety screening questions. Upon arrival, we will be checking proof of full vaccination. Masks are strongly recommended for children 12 and up. Masks will be required while interacting with event staff and encouraged but not required while watching the films. Chairs will not be permitted on the lawn, so feel free to bring picnic blankets!
Can I bring food and drinks?
No alcoholic beverages are allowed. Feel free to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages!
I’m vaccinated, do I need to wear a mask?
All attendees and staff are required to wear a mask while interacting. You will also be reminded of the mandatory safety measures via email and on screen.
What COVID-19 Measures Have Been Taken?
Our guests and our team’s safety is our primary concern. Our COVID-19 safety measures include social distancing for both guests and staff, regular cleaning of all facilities, and contact-free check-in. All attendees and staff are required to wear a mask while interacting. You will also be reminded of the mandatory safety measures via email and on-screen. We will be checking all guests proof of vaccination at check-in.
How accessible is this venue?

The first floor is Dancing on Ludlow, featuring an intimate lounge with a vaulted ceiling with chandeliers and accented by iron filigree and mirrors.
On the second floor, resides a lounge we call “The Red Room”. An intimate space for small gatherings and late night shenanigans. Flanked on all sides by leather banquettes, this room is ideal space to be on the “DL”.
Last and certainly not least, The DL boasts the LES’ biggest Retractable, Glass Covered, Climate Controlled Rooftop. Open year round, this oasis of lush palm trees and LED mood lighting is an escape from the bump and grind of the surrounding neighborhood.
COVID-19 Vaccination Policy:
Please note, this event is indoors and requires all attendees to present proof of at least one dose of a World Health Organization approved COVID-19 vaccine. Approved methods of providing vaccination proof per New York City guidance include New York State’s Excelsior Pass app, New York City’s COVID Safe app, or a CDC paper vaccination card. Out-of-state and international visitors with at least one dose of a WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine may download and use New York City’s COVID Safe app or present their CDC paper vaccination card. There is no required waiting period after receiving your first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine for entry into an indoor event. Per New York City requirements, proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will not be accepted as a method of entry.
