Overview
This concert is for novices and connoisseurs alike, and is a journey through 400 years of classical music. Wine reception to follow.
“Prelude” doesn’t only mean “an opening piece,” but can also symbolize the beginning of a musical journey.
For those who are not yet very familiar with classical music, entering a concert hall can often come with the feeling of not quite knowing how to listen. Classical music, especially instrumental works, has no lyrics. Much of its meaning is understood through the listener’s feelings, imagination, and interpretation.
Because of this, people sometimes feel that it is difficult to connect with the performers, or that classical music is harder to grasp immediately.
In addition, classical concerts are often surrounded by certain stereotypes: the expectation is often that everyone must dress formally, turn off their phones, sit completely still for two hours, and watch the performance without even the freedom to drift off for a moment.
One of the reasons we created Opus X was to guide people toward a deeper understanding of what classical music truly means, and why it remains so important in our world.
Classical music is one of the most important foundations of many musical forms. Its structure is extraordinarily rich and intricate, so feeling that you “do not fully understand it” is actually completely natural. Much of the music we know today, including pop music, has inherited aspects of its language and development from the classical tradition.
Moreover, works written hundreds of years ago, even after being performed thousands and thousands of times, still contain details that invite endless rediscovery.
We warmly invite you to join us for this concert. Classical music can feel distant, until you experience it in the right setting. Through this performance, we hope to offer a new way of encountering classical music, and we believe the evening will leave you with an experience unlike any other.
We look forward to seeing you at the concert.

A discussion with photography dealer, Hans Kraus, and Darius Himes, the International Head of Photographs for Christie’s
This conversation will examine how the market for 19th-century photographs has evolved over the past 45 years. When Hans Kraus began as a photography dealer in the early 1980s, attention was focused on the upcoming 150th anniversary of photography in 1989. Fox Talbot’s negative/positive process on paper and Daguerre’s direct positive on polished silver were both revealed in 1839. Today, we face another moment of transition while looking ahead to the medium’s bicentennial. In discussion with Darius Himes, the International Head of Photographs for Christie’s, Kraus will reflect on the state of today’s market, particularly for early photographs, and the opportunities available to collectors.

A literary memoir and coming-of-age story exploring native New Yorker Jesse Malin’s boundless creativity and triumph over daunting challenges, both physical and emotional.
“New York City is the center of the universe, and there is no New York City without Jesse Malin.” —Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day
JESSE MALIN IS A “GRITTY TROUBADOUR OF THE STREETS” (Rolling Stone) and “fearless storyteller” (Uncut) who tours internationally, and collaborates with artists like Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead, and Lucinda Williams. Malin went from playing CBGB at age thirteen to Madison Square Garden in his twenties. His first solo album, The Fine Art of Self Destruction, which was hailed as “a masterpiece rising from the pain of a difficult youth” (Classic Rock), launched his long and successful solo career.
Almost Grown is a raw, honest, and often funny account of how a hyperactive kid from Queens made his dreams come true—and the hustlers, sweethearts, misfits, and lifelong friends he met along the way. With Malin as its streetwise narrator, the book has more in common with The Basketball Diaries or Just Kids than with the standard rock biography. Although music is at the core of Malin’s soul, the memoir welcomes the reader into the tumultuous inner world of a boy from a broken home determined to create a life he could love.
In 2023, Malin was struck with a rare spinal stroke that paralyzed him from the waist down. The lifelong runner and vegetarian went public with this news—and his fierce resolve to walk again—in an interview with Rolling Stone. The story was picked up by the New York Times, People, CNN, Variety, the Los Angeles Times, and other outlets worldwide. The massive outpouring of love and support culminated in the release of Silver Patron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin—twenty-eight artists, from Jack Antonoff to Bruce Springsteen, covering his songs to raise money for his recovery. On December 1 and 2, 2024, Malin gave his first public performances since his stroke, taking the stage for two sold-out concerts hosted by actors Michael Imperioli and Mary-Louise Parker at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Malin’s sold-out theatrical production, Silver Manhattan: A Musical Memoir of Survival, is debuting at the Gramercy Theatre in New York in September 2025.
Jesse Malin is a singer-songwriter signed to Steven Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records. Malin’s critically acclaimed 2003 debut, The Fine Art of Self-Destruction, drew the attention of Bruce Springsteen, who invited Malin to perform songs from the album backed by Springsteen’s band at charity concerts. In the following years, Malin has released a string of well-received solo albums. Grammy winner Lucinda Williams produced his award-winning eighth studio album, Sunset Kids, which features guest appearances from Williams and Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong. In 2024, Malin released a live album and a full-length film, Chasing the Light, directed by David Stekert and Xander Strohm. He has also published articles in Rolling Stone, the Village Voice, and other magazines.

Arlen Schumer reveals how the series’ eerily prescient tales continue to challenge and inspire us.
This event was rescheduled from February 23.
Step into The Twilight Zone and discover why this legendary anthology series remains so powerfully relevant today. From 1959 to 1964, Rod Serling’s groundbreaking program used science fiction, fantasy, and horror not merely to entertain, but to probe humanity’s deepest hopes, anxieties, and ethical dilemmas. Among its most compelling themes was the role of modern technology— its dazzling promise and its darker, more unsettling consequences. These stories reflected the postwar boom in science, innovation, and space exploration, yet they also warned of technology’s potential to erode empathy, distort identity, and threaten the human spirit. Author and designer Arlen Schumer—creator of Visions from The Twilight Zone and the new book The Five Themes of The Twilight Zone—examines more than a dozen classic episodes that brilliantly anticipated the technological struggles of our own century. Through vivid visuals, thoughtful commentary, and engaging analysis, Schumer reveals how the series’ eerily prescient tales continue to challenge and inspire us, reminding audiences that progress and peril often travel hand in hand. Join us for an illuminating journey into The Twilight Zone.

ABOUT THE ENDING WRITES ITSELF:
Six authors.
One private island.
Seventy-two hours to write the ending that will change their lives.
“Smart, original and completely addictive. . . . The Ending Writes Itself is both a great locked-room thriller and a brilliant satire on the publishing industry. An absolute must-read.”—Karin Slaughter
Arthur Fletch, one of the world’s bestselling novelists, is a reclusive genius known for his iconic protagonists and fiendish twists. When six struggling authors are invited to spend a weekend on his private Scottish island, they arrive to discover a shocking secret: Arthur Fletch is dead . . . and his last book is unfinished.
Desperate to publish the novel, Fletch’s agent and editor have summoned these writers in the hope that one of them will imagine a worthy ending for this final book. To sweeten the deal, they are offering an irresistible prize: in addition to ghost-writing the last chapter––for a mind-boggling sum––they will also help the lucky writer successfully re-launch their own career, guaranteeing future bestsellers. The catch: the writers have just seventy-two hours to finish Fletch’s magnum opus.
Starting is often the hardest part. But getting to the end could be murder.
ABOUT Evelyn Clarke:
Evelyn Clarke is a pen name for two writers, both of whom have been published for more than a decade. One is a New York Times bestseller many times over. The other . . . isn’t. Speculation is mounting and multiple theories are circulating on social media about the identity of the authors.

30 founders. 15 growth partners. Active capital. 1 Legendary Room.
Most pitch events pretend the main bottleneck is funding.
In reality, most founders are not one term sheet away from success. They’re one working ad, one clear offer, and one real customer acquisition system away.
That’s what The Pitch Room NYC is built around.
Hosted by ROOMS, this is a highly curated founder, investor, and growth-partner event inside IMI Studios — the legendary Lower East Side recording space where culture gets recorded, not where conferences go to die.
This is not a generic networking mixer. It is a produced room built around a simple idea:
attention is everything — but attention without conversion is just noise.
That’s why this room combines two worlds that almost never show up together at a high level:
Amit Mohan (left) — operator, growth architect, and host of The Money Room since 2018..
with a decade spent building online communities, scaling brands…
..and managing millions in paid ads with real receipts – derived from practice & reinforced by clients, not theory
even using paid ads to profitably bootstrap new brands to $100K MRR on camera (below)
& Ahmad Quazi Jr. (right) — NYC executive producer and cultural architect…
… an authentic New York Legend- bringing the kind of room, energy, and entertainment gravity that cannot be faked.
One side knows how to buy attention profitably. The other knows how to create attention culturally.
Most founders have neither dialed in. This room exists to change that.
Sponsored by Ecometrix: The #1 Growth Engine in Performance Marketing
Event Highlights
The One Profitable Ad Workshop A short, practical workshop from Amit on how founders can think more clearly about launching and split-testing Meta ads, improving offers and landing pages, and avoiding the most common mistakes that burn cash.
1-Minute Founder Elevator Pitches (limited slots) Selected founders get 60 seconds to share:
what you’re building
traction (or what you’ve shipped)
what you need next
10–15 Growth Partner / Agency Pitches (The Growth Lane) A limited number of agencies and growth teams also get 60 seconds to pitch:
who they help
what they do best
and the type of founder they want to meet tonight
Curated Networking
After the pitches, the room opens back up.
Founders meet the agencies that fit. Investors meet the teams with clarity. Operators meet the builders who are serious. The best conversations happen once everyone knows who’s in the room and what they actually need.
Who Should Attend
Startup founders and CEOs
Investors: angels, VCs, scouts, family offices
Growth agencies and performance teams
Serious operators across growth, product, and partnerships
Builders who care more about execution than startup theater
Why Attend
Most events give you energy. This one gives you context.
Founders get:
a real stage
sharper positioning
and direct access to people who can help them acquire customers
Growth partners get:
founder deal flow with real context
clear fit
and a room designed for actual matching, not random mingling
Investors get:
signal
pressure-tested communication
and a front-row seat to who can pitch, who can execute, and who actually understands distribution
This is not a random meetup. It is a structured room built around attention, conversion, and real-world momentum.

We sold out in February. Now we’re back, bigger, better, and taking over one of Brooklyn’s most stunning venues.
If The Vibe Is Right returns to Bogart House with , live comedy, hosted games, and a room full of people who actually want to meet new people.
You’ll rotate through game rounds every 10–15 minutes using our matching technology, so you meet more people with less small talk.
What’s Going Down
This is a social experience built for people who are ready to expand their circle in New York City.

Real connections, not another awkward networking event
If the vibe is right, the possibilities are endless.
How It Works
1. Check In & Let Them Know Your Vibe
When you arrive, check in, grab a name tag, and add colored dots to signal what you’re open to:
🟡 Yellow = New friends
🔵 Blue = Collaborators and networking
🔴 Red = Romantic connections
Most people choose 2–3.
2. Play. Compete. Connect.
From here, our matching technology takes over.
You’re assigned to a new game station and partner every 10 to 15 minutes. Enjoy natural conversation through friendly competition.
Win your round? Earn entries for our grand prize drawing.
Meet someone worth keeping in touch with? Tap your phone to indicate interest. When it’s mutual, we send the intro after the event. What happens next is entirely up to you.
3. Leave With Real Connections
By the end of the night, you will have:
Met at least 5 new people face to face
Laughed through a live comedy set
Shared real moments over games, music, and conversation
Left with connections you actually want to follow up with
This Night Is For You If
You’re ready to expand your circle in New York City
You appreciate live comedy, good music, and experiences that don’t feel like everything else
You’re open to meeting people for friendship, collaboration, romance, or just organic connection
What to Expect (Timeline)
6:30 PM – Doors open. Check in, grab a drink, get food, and settle in.

Amster Yard Sounds debuts its family series with Costa Rican bassist Kenneth Jiménez—an upbeat jazz concert for kids and parents!
This year, Amster Yard Sounds launches a new music program for families! The first concert in this series features Costa Rican bassist Kenneth Jiménez, bringing the magic of jazz to young audiences with vibrant rhythms and playful melodies. It’s the perfect introduction for kids to discover the joy and creativity of live music.
Kenneth Jiménez, now based in New York, has collaborated with leading artists such as Francisco Mela, Angelica Sanchez, Tom Rainey, and Ingrid Laubrock. In 2017, he was selected for the prestigious Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program at the Kennedy Center under Jason Moran’s direction. His music explores contemporary soundscapes with a unique melodic touch; his latest project, Sonnet to Silence (WeJazz Records), has earned critical acclaim for its innovative approach.
Amster Yard Sounds Jazz is a program curated by the Spanish pianist Marta Sánchez.
