Pier 26 at Hudson River Park Hudson River Greenway New York

Join us for a guided tour of the Pier 26 Tide Deck for an immersive river ecology experience!
About this event
The design for HRPK’s Pier 26 is inspired by the Manhattan shoreline that would have existed prior to Henry Hudson’s 1609 expedition. The pier includes a series of ecological communities representing this native landscape, including from a woodland forest to the rocky tidal zone and the Hudson River itself. One of the most unique of these native coastal environments is the Tide Deck, a manufactured rocky tidal marsh located on the western end of the Pier. The Tide Deck and its marsh plants ebb and flood with our daily tidal cycle, and features many interesting habitat enhancements including tide pools.
We are excited to offer a few in-person and socially-distant tours on the Tide Deck walkway to wrap up our programming season. Join our River Project staff to learn more about this special environment during Tide Deck Tours. Visit HRPKPier26.org for more information about Pier 26 and the Tide Deck.
Please note that COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place for this event. This event is not ticketed, however please note that tour capacity is limited so we encourage you to show up early to reserve your space on a tour. Stay tuned for additional opportunities to tour the Tide Deck this summer.
