Learn how to build and execute efficiently regardless of fundraising circumstances and company size.
About this Event
How do you build and execute efficiently regardless of the fundraising circumstances? How can you compete with, or even beat, larger competitors when your company is tiny? How can you achieve more, with less?

This session will be led by Simon Chan, Investing Executive-in-Residence, Sierra Ventures; Venture Partner, Shasta Ventures. As an entrepreneur and investor, Simon will share his practical framework and personal startup stories.

About the speaker:

Simon is a serial entrepreneur, product leader, and investor. He has been at the forefront of the evolution of smart software for the enterprise – from conducting A.I. research in academia and building a machine learning startup to leading the A.I. platform (Einstein) in Salesforce and now partnering with Sierra Ventures and Shasta Ventures to support great entrepreneurs. His latest startup, PredictionIO, created a Machine Learning Server that empowers engineers to build smart software. Salesforce acquired it in 2016. Simon holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from University College London.

Attendees will receive a calendar invite with Zoom dial-in instructions after registering for the event (if you RSVP less than 3 hours before the event, you will receive instructions 30 minutes prior to the event). Effective immediately through at least June 1, Startup School workshops will be conducted virtually as part of a larger NYU effort to not bring large groups of guests and members of the NYU community together in a single venue.

Please note that current students & faculty will be required to show NYU ID. Alumni and the general public may purchase tickets to specific Startup School events when available.

The NYU Entrepreneurial Institute provides reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities. Requests for accommodations for events and services should be submitted at least two weeks before the date of the accommodation need. Please email carol.ourivio@nyu.edu for assistance.
